Ingredients
300g Green Beans
200g Plain Flour (for the batter)
400g Soya Milk
2 tbsp Za’atar (optional)
Sea Salt to taste
Breadcrumbs (ideally Panko if available)
Extra Flour for coating
500ml Vegetable or Sunflower Oil
Directions
- Wash and trim the green beans and cook them in salted boiling water for 3 minutes, drain and transfer to a bowl of ice and water to prevent discolouring.
- Once cool drain again, dry with a kitchen towel and set aside.
- Whisk the batter flour, water and za’atar in a bowl until smooth.
- Coat in the beans in the extra flour, then in batter and then in breadcrumbs. Repeat the steps twice.
- Heat the oil on a medium high heat in a large saucepan and cook the beans until golden brown.
- Drain and pat dry with a paper towel to remove excess oil. Serve with a lemon wedge and any favoured dips you desire.
